The US digital retailer Chewy will significantly reduce its presence in Dallas and cut more than 650 jobs. The online pet supplies retailer informed the state in a letter of its plans to reduce operations at its fulfilment centre at Grady Niblo Road in Dallas, according to local media. Chewy plans to eliminate 674 positions with the layoffs beginning in May, the reports say.
The site itself will not close, though it “will remain open in a substantially reduced capacity,” the letter said. No comments were made from Chewy itself. In 2017, the pet supply e-commerce business opened the 61 964-m2 fulfillment center in southwest Dallas.
Chewy will report its fiscal fourth quarter and full year 2024 financial results before the market opens on 26 March.
