Galaxus has posted strong growth of 18 per cent year-on-year to reach platform sales of 3.4 bn euros (3.2 bn Swiss francs) in 2024, the Swiss online retailer announced in a press release. Group-wide platform sales with Digitec and Galaxus for Switzerland and Europe rose by 484 mn Swiss francs. Net sales from goods and services increased by 17 per cent to 2.9 bn Swiss francs.

According to Galaxus, more than 4.5 mn people made at least one purchase from the online retailer in 2024, including 1.2 mn customers in Germany, Austria and the rest of Europe. In Germany and the European markets, Galaxus achieved strong growth in all categories and generated platform sales of 362 mn euros, an increase of 27 per cent compared to the previous year.

 

With the start of construction of the new logistics centre in Neuchâtel (Neuenburg am Rhein) in southern Germany, the continuous development of services and the new home for more than 60 employees in Hamburg's Hoheluft-Ost district, Galaxus has laid the foundations for continued growth. The existing Swiss logistics centres are already operating at full capacity. Galaxus plans to hire 1,000 new employees in Neuchâtel.
