Mera uses recyclable plastic pouches

Together with packaging specialist Mondi, Mera Tiernahrung has developed a recyclable plastic pouch for semi-moist croquettes. A sustainable packaging was required in which the croquettes would remain fresh and moist during the product's shelf life.
The Mondi's FlexiBag Recyclable packaging provides an aroma and grease barrier as well as being fully recyclable due to the use of the monomaterial polyethylene. "This 12.5 kg pouch is the biggest of its kind in the pet food industry with a recyclable packaging," explained Fitore Loshaj, regional sales manager for Mondi Consumer Flexibles in the German-speaking countries.
