Industry gathering in Dubai

With more than 200 exhibitors from over 22 countries, the Pet World Arabia exhibition is on a record growth curve, doubling  in size for its third edition.

The only comprehensive B2B exhibition for the pet industry in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) is gearing up for its third edition, which will take place on 19-20 April at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). With over 200 exhibitors from more than 22 countries, twice as many as at the inaugural event in 2023, it will be a packed show. Attendees are expected from countries including Belgium, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, India, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Pakistan, South Korea, Switzerland, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

„The appeal of Pet World Arabia has grown exponentially over the past three years, in line with the increasing humanisation of pets in the UAE and the region, which is driving demand for a range of pet products from food to accessories and grooming. It is estimated that the market is currently growing at a CAGR* of almost 5 per cent and will be worth more than 6.5 bn dollars in the next two years,” said Nadhal Mohamed, General Manager of Al Fajer Information & Services, the show organiser.

Pet products from around the world

Over the past two years, Pet World Arabia has become a must-attend event in the Dubai calendar. For pet lovers, the show is a one-stop-shop for pet products from around the world, including pet food, accessories, cosmetics, veterinary products and grooming aids. „While Pet World Arabia is firmly rooted in its goal of facilitating business between pet industry players, it has also gained a lot of traction in the education and entertainment segments, which attracts a large number of people to the show,” said Rajesh Nair, the show’s Project Manager.

The education and entertainment segments of the show include live animal shows such as the dog championship, fashion shows, dog training demonstrations, veterinary seminars, talk shows, grooming training, competitions and more.

The most visible impact of pet adoption is the expansion of the pet products market, and growth in the MEA region is in line with global statistics from Bloomberg Intelligence (BI), which predicts that the pet industry will grow from 320 bn to 500 bn dollars by 2030. The US will remain the largest pet market with sales of 200 bn dollars.
