Hill's Pet Nutrition (Hill's), a leading animal welfare partner, announced its inaugural "Welcome Home" adoption campaign to help shelter pets find loving homes this January. Hill's has partnered with participating Hill's Food, Shelter & Love shelters across the country and has donated up to 130 000 dollars to help offset adoption costs.
The campaign kicks off with a "Welcome Home" float in the 2025 Rose Parade presented by Honda, a collaboration with long-time shelter partner Pasadena Humane in California. The float depicts the "best day ever" for pets welcomed home on Adoption Day and celebrates the joy and companionship that pets bring to our lives.
This campaign aims to support shelters and reduce barriers to adoption. The beginning of the year is a critical time for animal shelters across the country, many of which are at or over capacity, according to Hill's. In an effort to ease the burden on shelters, the company has partnered with 13 shelters across the country to cover adoption fees up to 100 dollars per dog or cat from January 1-12. To help newly adopted pets get off to a healthy start, Hill's also provided a free starter bag of Hill's Science Diet and value coupons for their next bag.
Hill's Food, Shelter & Love programme provides science-based nutrition to more than 1 000 North American shelters every day, the company said. In 2024, the shelter programme reached a new milestone of 15 mio pet adoptions supported since its inception in 2002. Hill's has provided more than 300 mio dollars worth of science-based nutrition to help pets in need.
