The best of Britain’s dog groomers will come together in Leeds on 21 October

The best of Britain’s dog groomers will come together in Leeds on  21 October to compete in the 2007 British Dog Grooming Championships, popularly known as ‘Groomer of the Year’. An annual event hosted by the Pet Care Trust and the British Dog Groomers’ Association (BDGA), sponsored by Groomers Limited and Fish4Dogs, the British Dog Grooming Championships will see top groomers from across the country compete to become ‘Groomer of the Year’, and walk away with prizes totalling £ 500. There will also be prizes for runners-up, and for new groomers, the chance to compete for the title ‘Newcomer of the Year’. Alongside the grooming action itself, there will be grooming demonstrations on a variety of different breeds, and a series of seminars throughout the day on everything from dog behaviour and First-Aid, to advice on helping grooming businesses grow. As ever, trade stands will feature next to the competition and will include names such as Pennine Industries, Groomers Limited, Red Cape, and Groom Team England. For the first time this year, there will also be an education area where grooming colleges and training centres can take a stand at a reduced rate giving them and potential students the chance to meet up.
