Fressnapf: "Coolest discount trader in the world"

The Fressnapf party to mark the opening of the company’s 500th store turned into a major international event for the pet product industry, with over 2 200 enthusiastic party-goers celebrating into the early hours in the Wild West town of Warner Bros Movie World in Bottrop, Germany. The high point of the event, which was heavily sponsored by the industry, was the joint appearance of Fressnapf supremo Torsten Toeller and Bob Moran, president and chief operating officer of leading US pet product chain PetsMart. In his welcome speech, Toeller declared that he intends to “step up the pace” in the future. While it may have taken seven years for his company to open its first 500 stores, Toeller aims to launch the next 500 outlets in half that time. A self-confident Toeller commented: "We’re the coolest discount dealer in the world".
