More visitors and exhibitors in Guangzhou

The 28th China International Pet Show (Cips) took place in Guangzhou from 10 to 13 September. The internationally recognised pet trade fair was held under the motto Dragon Rising in the East and was intended to present itself to both domestic and international trade visitors as a clearly Chinese-influenced event.

According to a final report by the organiser, this year's exhibition area was 100 000 m², an increase of 67 per cent on the previous year. In addition, over 1 400 exhibitors took part, an increase of 50 per cent on the previous year. More than 70 000 trade visitors came from over 120 countries and regions.

The number of international visitors rose by 73 per cent compared to the previous year. The majority of international visitors came from Japan, followed by visitors from Malaysia, the USA, Russia and Germany.

64 per cent of the exhibitors were from the dog and cat products sector, 29 per cent from the aquarium products sector, 4 per cent from the small pets and birds products sector and 3 per cent from the reptile products and others sector.
