The China International Pet Show (Cips) in Guangzhou was held at the end of May for the first time after the forced interlude due to the pandemic. Nearly 1 200 exhibitors from more than ten countries and regions participated. Eight halls featured with a total exhibition area of almost 80 000 m². Around 70 000 visitors in all were recorded over the four days, arriving in Guangzhou from more than 120 countries. “The Cips in Guanghzou was the first major meeting of trade professionals from the Asia-Pacific region since the pandemic and is one of the world’s biggest trade shows,” stated fair organiser China Great Wall International Exhibition confidently.
The 27th edition of the China International Pet Show will also take place this year from 7 to 10 December in Shanghai. More than 1 200 exhibitors are once again expected to appear on over 100 000 m² as well as over 100 000 visitors. All future Cips shows are then expected to be staged in the fourth quarter annually. “This is the traditional Cips time and people in the pet supplies business in China and abroad are familiar with it,” the organisers added.
International spread
As a trading platform for the pet and aquatics sector, at which buying and selling takes place on a global scale, the international appeal of Cips has always been one of its special features. “Alongside a large number of buyers from Europe and the United States visiting the show and trading, the number of buyers from Southeast Asia, Russia and the Middle East has also increased significantly,” reported the organisers. Cips also has a key role as a communications platform, however, thanks to the accompanying events and specialist forums. Among others, these include the China International Pet Food Forum (CIPF), the Cips Global Grooming Conference (CGGC), the Cips Global Ornamental Fish Championship, the Cips International Aquascaping Contest (CIAC), the Cips International Marine Aquascaping Contest (CMAC) and the Cips Biotic Aquarium Contest (CBAC).
