With 121 stores in the Czech Republic and 38 stores in Slovakia, where the company has been operating since 2009, Pet Center is one of the leading pet supplies retailers in both countries. It has grown rapidly there in recent years, taking the number of stores in the Czech Republic from 72 to 117 between 2010 and 2017. This expansion was achieved above all by new openings and acquisitions. In Slovakia many of the existing outlets were completely revamped and reopened with an optimised, downsized range. Pet Center is headquartered in Horni Pocˇernice in the Czech capital Prague, where the company's administrative offices and a big logistics centre are located alongside its flagship store, which is the biggest pet store in the country.
Extensive range
Pet Center attaches great importance to offering pet owners a complete range of pet products of the highest quality. The product spectrum amounts to roughly 12 500 SKUs, which are sourced from over 80 suppliers, and in addition to pet food and supplements includes a broad selection of health & beauty products, toys, carriers and beds etc. Livestock is a permanent feature of the assortment, with fish, reptiles, small animals and cage birds offered for sale.
As well as the leading brands, the range also includes exclusive private labels from Pet Center, with which the company aims to set itself apart from its competitors in quality terms. To be able to provide its customers with a varied product portfolio, 25 per cent of the existing range is replaced on average by new products each year.
Strongly service-oriented
Pet Center is extremely keen to make an all-inclusive service available to its customers to satisfy pet owners' wishes as fully as possible. "We have extensive experience of everything that pets need," is a company motto and the firm has invested heavily in recent years to become even better. To be able to advise its customers on all aspects of pet keeping, Pet Center believes firmly in maintaining a staff of highly educated employees. It has therefore established its own educational programme based on the company's long experience.
