In September the company organised its second Coveris Innovation day. It was a great success once again, welcoming representatives from many of the top food brands. The event took place in mid- September in the grounds of Coveris Rigid in Auneau, France, and included specialist presentations, a factory tour and Q&A session. The focus this time was on Coveris' breakthrough thermoforming in-mould labelling technology (T-IML). T-IML is the first decorated 360° high-barrier and retortable plastic packaging in the food, baby food and pet food industries. "We explained to the attendees the key benefits of this technology compared to traditional decoration technologies such as dry off-set printing, shrink sleeve and labels. Moreover, the T-IML has the potential to replace glass and aluminium, being suitable for the retort process," says Olivier Laigre, commercial and marketing manager.
The extensive capabilities of Coveris Rigid France SAS were on show throughout the day. Points covered included the three production plants in France, their 50-plus years of expertise and know-how, and the continuous significant investment made in the plants, such as the new T-IML line and clean room facilities.
The programme further included a range of inspiring presentations and activities, such as an introduction to Coveris and its wide range of technological capabilities. It included recent developments and future plans in the field of innovative sustainable packaging solutions that add value to people's lives through convenience.
