Market leader in Spain

Tiendanimal (founded in 2006 as an online shop, first store opened in 2013) and Kiwoko (founded in 2008) are considered the benchmark in the pet supplies sector in the Iberian Peninsula. The company currently operates more than 300 specialist stores in Spain and Portugal. Around 60 per cent of these are Kiwoko stores and the remaining 40 per cent are Tiendanimal stores. There are also approximately 51 Kivet clinics and 91 Mundo Belleza salons under the Kiwoko umbrella, and 17 Clinicanimal clinics and 76 Salón de Belleza salons under the Tiendanimal umbrella. In the last financial year, 24 new salons were opened. Iskaypet has announced that the pace of expansion will continue with a further 30 to 40 new openings per year. An important milestone for the Group this year was the opening of the Madrid Centro veterinary clinic. Covering an area of more than 1 000 m², it offers emergency and in-patient treatment 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In 2022, the specialist retail group Ornimundo in Portugal was acquired. The stores were converted into Tiendanimal and Kiwoko. Two years later, we can say that this integration has been a success, the formats have been extremely well received by Portuguese families,’ says Iskaypet. There are currently 50 sites in Portugal: 16 in the Lisbon area, 26 in the Porto area and eight in the south of the country. The Iskaypet Group also operates five veterinary clinics and 29 grooming parlours in Portugal.

The difference between Kiwoko and Tiendanimal lies in the approach of the two brands: Tiendanimal specialises in a wide range of products for dogs and cats in its stores. Kiwoko, on the other hand, has an experiential approach where customers can shop with their pets. The emphasis is on a wide range and always the latest innovations, whether in the form of toys, accessories or other products, not only for dogs and cats, but also for rodents, birds or fish.
