Grain-free food for cats Interquell offers two grain-free products in its “Supreme” range for cats. “Happy Cat Fit & Well Junior Grain-Free” and “Happy Cat Fit & Well Adult Grain-Free” are tasty, highly digestible recipes containing poultry, gluten-free potato and Yucca Shidigera, according to the company. To counter food allergies or intolerances, the recipes contain only potatoes as a source of carbohydrate. Fish has also been deliberately dispensed with as a source of animal protein. An easy to read digital LED display and clear plastic cover allow keepers to monitor their eggs throughout the incubation period, the company reports. The first is a high-protein floating pellet for flowerhorns and other cichlids, available in two versions for young and adult fish. A high content of easily assimilable protein encourages fish growth, while unsaturated fatty acids (omega 3, omega 6) enhance the development of a forehead hump, a distinctive feature of flowerhorns and other large cichlids from South and Central America. Plant material, including spirulina, is a source of natural carotenoids, which enhance colouring. The second new product is a high-protein, sinking granule for predatory bottom feeders (carnivores). The low carbohydrate content protects carnivorous fish from fatty degeneration of internal organs.
