A decade of aquarium production

"Aquatlantis - synonymous with quality and innovation" is the motto of firm's founder José Pereira, who is still involved in the company today. He recently handed over the running of the company to his son. Prior to setting up Aquatlantis, José Pereira worked in aquarium production for over 35 years, eventually using his experience and extensive knowledge to build up his own business. "He was able to bring all his know-how into his company, transmitting to Aquatlantis a new dynamic concept to which he added consistent attention to quality and innovation," said David Pereira when speaking to PET in Europe.Aquatlantis offers aquariums in a variety of shapes and dimensions that meet the most recent technical standards. The 120 staff of the company take care to ensure that the high standard of quality demanded is maintained. They are aided in this task by robots, which are used for specific aspects of production, such as cutting glass and wood. The company just invested € 1.5 mio in this sector in the renewal and acquisition of new advanced technology equipment, including robots and numerical control machines. This is reflected in the TÜV and GS certification of the products. And the company itself has recently been awarded "ISO 9001:2000"-certification. The product range covers a broad spectrum of the aquatics sphere, from simple glass tanks via the small "Kidsafe" aquariums for children and beginners to "Aquaplasma" wall aquariums and exclusive aquarium combinations, with standard, semi-circular and corner aquariums. The "Aqualampe" is an unusual feature aquarium. Of an elliptical shape, the 20 litre aquarium has a lamp with lampshade for illumination, enabling it to be used for room lighting purposes. Aquatlantis offers extensive sales and presentation support to the speciality trade, such as a platform presentation for the aquarium combinations and a wall presentation with base structure for wall aquariums.David Pereira says: "A look at the development of the company is enough to prove that the concept of quality pays for itself. Despite an aquatics market that is almost inactive, Aquatlantis was able to increase its annual rate of growth up to two digits." The company intends to aim for continuous enlargement of its markets, keeping its innovative concept, modern design, security and quality at the highest levels in all countries without exception.
