Kormotech, a family-owned global company with Ukrainian roots, has received a 40 mio euros loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This will be invested in the expansion of its wet pet food production facility in Kėdainiai, Lithuania.

The 63 mio euros project will include four new production lines, with the first phase of construction starting in 2025 and full completion expected by 2028. The new plant will add to Kormotech's current production capacity, which already includes three plants: two in Ukraine and one in Lithuania, which will open in 2020.

According to a company statement, the expansion in Europe will help Kormotech achieve its strategic goal of becoming one of the world's top 30 pet food manufacturers by 2029, with sales of 500 mio euros. „We expect the European markets to contribute 300 mio euros to Kormotech's sales in five years' time," said Rostyslav Vovk, CEO and co-founder of Kormotech. The company's products are currently sold in 44 countries.
