Sizoo has the collaboration of the most prestigious organisations in the sector, such as the ANFAAC (Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Alimentos para Animales de Compañía) and the AVEPA (Asociación de Veterinarios Especialistas en Pequeños Animales) among others.
At the last Sizoo two years ago, over 150 national and international exhibitors took up an exhibition area of around 30 000 m². 13 500 visitors came to Barcelona, including distributors and wholesalers (10.4 per cent), retailers (29 per cent), importers and technicians, veterinarians (15 per cent), breeders (5.9 pet cent), dog grooming professionals (6.2 per cent), manufacturers (4.3 per cent), students (3.5 per cent) and others (25.7 per cent).
For companies operating at international level, Sizoo is the first stop in Spain.
An analysis of statistical data shows that 19 per cent of visitors were interested in food, 16 per cent in accessories, 13 per cent in health, 10 per cent in aquariums, 8 per cent in terrariums, 10 per cent in cages, 7 per cent in equipment for ponds and gardens and the remaining 17 per cent in other products.
Taking place at the same time as Sizoo, but restricted to the weekend only, is the consumer fair Pets Festival. An area of 15 000 m² will accommodate 40 exhibitors from Spain, in particular specialist retailers as well as smaller companies and manufacturers mainly involved in direct sales. The focal point of the event will be the dog show, along with demonstrations of agility, obedience and rescue operations carried out by dogs belonging to the National Police, Guardia Civil and Mossos d’Esquadra. The festival will host the 74th International Canine Exhibition, which is expected to bring together over 3 000 dogs presented by the most prestigious national and foreign breeders. And the Feline Exhibition will show over 150 cats of 15 breeds from all over the world.
