Flourishing trade in roots, sand and stones

L.C.I. is based in Sargé-sur-Braye and has been active in the French market since 1989. It specialises in natural stones and their different forms, hence its motto: “Men at the service of stones”. The company obtains its products mainly from Europe, but also imports stones from other parts of the world.

Natural stones are used for a variety of different purposes. Paving stones are a basic element in the creation of terraces, paths and roads. Loose stones and pebbles are used as an enhancing feature in gardens and also for shaping the course of brooks and waterfalls. Decorative minerals and roots add the perfect finishing touch to aquariums, terrariums and garden ponds. Customers of L.C.I. include local authorities, home owners and building firms as well as pet stores and horticultural businesses.

L.C.I. is represented all over France and has warehouse facilities in various parts of the country. Since word has spread regarding the high quality of the products supplied by the company, export is becoming an increasingly interesting prospect. The company now turns over 4 mio € per year (before tax).
Natural stones for aquariums
“The pet product industry has become an important branch of business for us,” says Sicault Pascale, who has been responsible for the pet and pond segments for ten years. In the decorative sphere in particular, the company offers the pet trade a remarkable variety of roots, artificial plants and decorative resin products for aquariums and terrariums. It also stocks a wide range of different sorts of sand for aquariums and bird cages as well as a substantial selection of pebbles that are also suitable for aquarium use. L.C.I. is flexible when it comes to package sizes, which range from 800 g bags up to 25 kg sacks and big bags. The company also offers sales displays and other promotional aids to improve point of sale presentation. To retain the interest of existing customers and attract new clients, L.C.I. regularly has an exhibition stand at the leading French pet product show Expozoo in Paris.  maj
