In spite of this, the general response of exhibitors and visitors alike to the fair was anything but poor. 105 companies took advantage of the opportunity to exhibit a host of new products and services at Anido. Although the number of exhibitors was down on last time, the exhibition floor area was around 10 per cent larger this time, and this manifested itself positively in the quality of the stands.
Presented in style: Hill’s Pet Products.
The “Pet Shop Award” competition is intended to focus greater attention on Belgian pet stores and garden centres. The Christel pet shop in Herenthout took first prize for the best Belgian pet store, receiving a cheque to the value of 620 euro.
Four “Anido awards” were also presented. The prize for the best stand by far was awarded by specialist visitors to Flamingo, while the prize of the specialist jury went to Joys. The criteria adopted when judging the stands were their appearance, originality, the reception given to visitors, orderliness, cleanliness and advertising.
Flamingo received an award for the best stand at Anido.
An award for the category “Best innovation/food” went to Hill’s Pet Products Benelux for its product “Hill’s Science Plan Canine Oral Care”, which helps to prevent tartar and plaque in dogs. It was launched on the Belgian market on 1 December 2001. The prize in the accessories and care product category was awarded to New Best for its “Complete Care System”.
