The French retail group Casino, which has over 12 000 stores in France and Latin America, has announced its intention to work more closely with the retailer Les Mousquetaires (Intermarché and Netto).
The two groups wish to extend the period of their purchasing alliance Auxo by two years to 2028. Inclusion of the Teract retail group should further deepen the working relationship. Members of the Teract group include the garden centre chains Jardiland, Gamm Vert, Delbard, Jardineries du Terroir and Noa along with supermarket chains Boulangerie Louise, Grand Marché La Marnière, Frais d'Ici and Bio & Co. Plans are in hand to create new partnerships, including a purchasing alliance for food private labels. The agreement also provides for the possibility that Casino branches could be sold over a number of years to Les Mousquetaires. This would enable Casino to limit its operations to target and priority regions, while Intermarché could add to its national network.
Casino had already agreed previously with Teract to form a new unit controlled by the Casino group. Les Mousquetaires will now become part of this unit.
