H.H. Backer’s 21st Annual Pet Industry Spring Trade Show, held 3-5 April in Baltimore, drew more than 5 300 registered buyers from 1 707 firms. According to trade show director Colette Fairchild, a total of 319 exhibitors displayed products in more than 520 booths. In addition, 66 exhibitors displayed at the Backer show for the first time. “Despite what’s going on with the economy, the Backer Spring show performed well beyond the expectations of most,” Colette Fairchild said. “It was encouraging for the pet industry to see a steady flow of qualified buyers interacting with exhibitors on the show floor.” H.H. Backer Associates’ next show is the 43rd Annual Pet Industry Christmas Trade Show from 2-4 October in Rosemont.
