Scientists shared research on a variety of topics ranging from palatability to gastrointestinal health during the 2009 Petfood Forum

Kemin Industries presented new research on a variety of pertinent pet food topics during the Petfood Forum in Chicago in April. Jennifer Radosevich, director of R&D and regulatory affairs for Kemin Nutrisurance, gave a presentation entitled “Ingredient sourcing and cytotoxicity testing” to a large group of Petfood Forum attendees. She outlined the importance of strict quality control processes and explained a new measure Kemin has instituted, cytotoxicity testing, as part of an early alert programme for select ingredients to better address safety concerns for customers. The Kemin Nutrisurance research and development team also presented 5 of the 9 posters in total during the poster session. The poster topics ranged from palatability and biogenic amines to gastrointestinal health.
