The latest trends in retailer brands will be on display at the World of Private Label trade show to be held on 26-27 May at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam. Manufacturers from 70 countries will show their new products and packaging innovations. The show will present more than 3 000 exhibition stands including over 35 national and regional pavilions. Brian Sharoff, president of the Private Label Manufacturers Association, says: “The global economic downturn is changing the retail landscape in Europe. Consumers are paying more attention to discounters, and supermarkets and hypermarkets are fighting back on price. Value-for-money is now at the top of consumer shopping lists and that is always good news for private label. Retailers recognise, however, that even in recession shoppers expect quality and assortment.” New products and packaging from around the world will be on display at the Idea Supermarket, which has become one of the event’s most popular features. There will be hundreds of food and non-food products from more than 60 retailers from Europe, Africa, North and South America, Asia and Oceania. On 25 May, the pre-show seminar programme features industry experts presenting the latest market research reports and analysis of trends affecting retailing and private label.
