Sergeant's to acquire Chomp

The Omaha-based US supplier Sergeant's Pet Care Products has reached an agreement to acquire Chomp, a manufacturer of natural dog and cat treats and supplements with a wide distribution in the USA. The brands acquired, including "Yip Yap" breath treats for dogs and "Pit'r Pat" tasty treats for cats, will enhance Sergeant's product offerings and its market share in both the pet treats and pet dental care categories. The Chomp line also includes "Sniffers" life stages treats, "Sniffers 101" training bits and "Sniffers Shake-Ins" meal toppers. Sergeant's Pet Care Products was founded in 1868 and calls itself America's oldest full-line pet supplies company. It is a leading supplier of flea and tick remedies, health and well-being products, natural and formulated treats, rawhide chews, toys and accessories.
