Foreign premiere for Fressnapf XXL

Fressnapf has opened its first XXL pet store on 1 400 m² of retail area in Foetz, Luxembourg. A roughly 300 m² hall featuring ponds and a 400 m² outdoor area – both expected to open in spring 2009 – bring the overall size of the store to 2 000 m². Fressnapf stresses that this makes it the biggest pet supplies store in Luxembourg. “The concept, which has been tested successfully in Germany, is now ready to be replicated internationally,” says Johannes Croé, Fressnapf’s director of international expansion. “With the large-format shopping experience concept and live pet areas in XXL we will open up new sales potential beyond the confines of Germany in the future.” The XXL store in Foetz brings the number of stores operated in Luxembourg by Fressnapf’s franchise partner, the Müller family, to five. The XXL concept is also to be launched in France in the coming year.
