Expansion westwards in Europe

After establishing a number of companies in central Europe (Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia), Vitakraft is now expanding westwards into a further European growth market. The latest subsidiary in the Vitakraft Group is Vitakraft Portugal L.d.a., based in Lisbon. Portugal is one of the most promising pet product markets in Europe: last year the Portuguese spent nearly € 210 mio on their pets. Vitakraft products are marketed in Portugal both via the grocery channel and the speciality trade.
