In 2007 Pet Valu, the Canadian speciality retailer of pet-related products, increased like-for-like sales by 6.5 per cent in Canada and 3.6 per cent in the USA on the previous year’s results

In 2007 Pet Valu, the Canadian specialty retailer of pet-related products, increased like-for-like sales by 6.5 per cent in Canada and 3.6 per cent in the USA. At the end of the year the company’s total sales amounted to $ 162.9 mio, compared with $ 147 mio in the previous year. Pet Valu operates 343 stores, 281 in Canada and 62 in the USA. The company intends to boost the development of new private labels this year, and to expand the number of high quality differentiated product selections. Still another goal involves upgrading the group’s technological systems. The company also plans improvements to the customer shopping experience through continued efforts to advance the level of knowledgeable service provided by store staff, improvements in the utilisation of store space and enhancements to the overall store image.
