At 5.78 bn euros (-1.1 per cent), total net sales at Hornbach Baumarkt AG in the 2023/24 financial year almost matched the previous year's figure of 5.843 bn euros. On a like-for-like basis and net of currency items, sales at the Hornbach Holding AG & Co. subgroup fell by two per cent.
Net sales at Hornbach Baumarkt AG in its home country of Germany fell by 2.6 per cent to 2.787 bn euros in the last financial year (1 March 2023 to 29 February 2024) (2022/23: 2.861 bn euros). By contrast, net sales in the other European national companies rose slightly by 0.4 per cent to 2.993 bn euros (2022/23: 2.982 bn euros). Overall, the foreign share of group sales was 51.8 per cent (2022/23: 51.0 per cent).
Online sales including click & collect accounted for 12.7 per cent of the Hornbach-Baumarkt subgroup's total sales in the past financial year (2022/23: 14.1 per cent) and were thus significantly higher than the pre-pandemic level (2019/20: 9.6 per cent). Compared with the previous year, online sales fell by 11.1 per cent to 732 mio euros in the 2023/24 financial year.
As of 29 February, Hornbach Baumarkt AG operated 171 DIY megastores with garden centres and online shops in nine European countries. In Germany, the stationary store network comprises 96 (previously: 97) DIY megastores with garden centres and two Bodenhaus specialist stores. In eight countries in the rest of Europe, the subgroup operates 73 DIY megastores with garden centres (previous year: 72).
