Europe’s leading speciality chain Fressnapf notched up sales of € 934.8 mio in twelve European countries in 2007. The company states that it thus boosted sales by 16.8 per cent compared with the previous year, achieving the highest increase for five years. The franchise firm gained substantial ground in Germany too, with sales of € 673.8 mio and a percentage increase of 12.9 per cent. Like-for-like growth in Europe was 11.5 per cent and in Germany around 5 per cent. “2007 was one of our strongest years since the company was established,” said Fressnapf boss Torsten Toeller. 80 new stores were opened last year, including 56 in Germany, bringing the total number of outlets to 907. Fressnapf operates 682 stores in Germany.
