APPMA unveils a new industry report

According to The American Pet Products Manufacturers Association (APPMA), the American pet industry is continuing its rapid rise to the top with spending expected to exceed a whopping  35.9 billion dollars by the end of 2005. The organization has identified new trends driving its growth and is unveiling them in the new industry report “Top Six For ‘06”. One trend is private labeling. According to the Private Label Manufacturers Association store brands now account for 11 per cent of cat food, 12 per cent of dog food, 13 per cent of pet supplies and 21 per cent of cat litter.
