Last year the market share of trading brands shot up all over Europe. This fact emerges from the new 2005 International Yearbook of Trading Brands published by PLMA and compiled exclusively by ACNielsen. There has been a volume increase in each of the 15 countries taken into consideration. More than four out of ten products sold in the United Kingdom and Belgium are now retailer or wholesaler brands, and sales almost on the same scale can be noted in Germany as well. The quantative share of trading brands in Spain and France exceeded the 30 per cent mark for the first time. Market shares in the new member countries of Poland, Czechia, Hungary and Slovakia also increased.
