At 27 360 sq ft (2 544 square meters), the revamped store in Malden, West London, is featuring an increased range of services such as a newly refurbed and extended veterinary practice, premium facilities such as a luxury Pets Grooming Salon with more capacity and more. This 2.2 mio GBP transformation marks the single largest investment in Pets at Home’s estate history, claims the company in a press release.
Pets at Home’s impressive 25 mio GBP investment in estate interventions this year alone highlights its commitment to refurbishing, enhancing, and futureproofing its facilities, says the operator of more than 450 shops, over 350 grooming salons and nearly 500 veterinary surgeries and practices across the UK. This strategy includes opening new pet centres, upgrading existing centres and working with veterinary practices: “The New Malden Pet Care Centre is a key example of this strategy, forming part of the company’s ambitious expansion programme.”
Evolving needs
This new look flagship Pet Care Centre boasts a host of new features and spaces tailored to meet the evolving needs of pets and their families like a dedicated nutrition hub with an increased range of fresh, frozen and raw food options. The Hub will also feature increased fridge and freezer space, a pick-and-mix treat bar stocked with natural products, and a designated consultation area for help and advice across all life stages from puppy and kitten to senior.

An expanded Health Centre makes it easier for customers to manage their pets’ everyday healthcare needs, including licensed medications and easy access to free pet weighing scales. A team of highly trained pet care advisors will be on hand to support with free advice, including flea and worm subscriptions, free weight checks and pet food consultations, as well as fitting services for dog coats and harnesses.
An expanded cat area features premium and own brand products typically only available online, the company says. And the largest live Pet Zone brings together small animals, aquatic animals and reptiles in one interactive area.
