More than 90 per cent of the exhibitors have thus retained their original stand reservations for the new date in the odd-numbered year, reports Interzoo organiser WZF, the German Pet Trade & Industry Association. The WZF has also announced that companies which have not yet booked or cancelled their participation due to the coronavirus crisis can now register as exhibitors.
The significant interest in appearing as an exhibitor at Interzoo is an indication for  WZF managing director Andrea Facklamm that trade shows in the business-to-business field are highly rated and digital formats have primarily a supplementary function. "Digital solutions can set products creatively in context and present details impressively, but they cannot replace the multisensual experience of fairs. Personal communication and experiencing something with all senses continues to be essential for many products. This is especially the case with innovations being presented to the market for the first time," adds Dr Rowena Arzt, head of the trade shows unit at WZF.

Online presentations

In addition to the complementary and conference programme of Interzoo on site, a new digital service will be offered: "In cooperation with the market research company Euromonitor International and other partners, we are launching a series of online presentations on special topics for the pet industry." The online presentations, which are in English, are free of charge and can be accessed worldwide. Each lasting 45 minutes, the expert presentations cover topics influencing the pet sector now and in the future. They present market trends such as the development of the global market for pet products, give special insights into the pet food segment and look at the impact of e-commerce on the sector as well as the value of sustainability in the pet sector. The first sequence, on the effects of the coronavirus crisis, premiered at the start of July with the title "Pet Industry Insights in Light of COVID-19".
