The new store is already the eighth Tom & Co. location in the Île-de-France region. But the specialist trade chain isn't only very active around the capital. Tom & Co. has also already launched locations in the north of France, in Douai and Bruay-la-Buissière (to the south and to the north of Lens) and Petite-Fôret near Valenciennes. These stores are operated as branches.
Tom & Co. clearly strengthened its position in France in the past year. One of the latest locations includes an opening in Bretigny-sur-Orge, which is also situated in the Île-de-France region. The store holds a retail space of 420 m2, and is managed by the franchisee Laurent Bonnet, who also works with a franchising system in floristry, which means he has a lot of experience in trade.
A first for the west
A location was already launched in June by Tom & Co. in Hazebrouck, between Lille and Saint Omer. The store is managed by the franchisee Dimitry Notte, who has already worked for Tom & Co. as director for two years, together with his wife. The location has a retail space of 470 m2. In the same month a Tom & Co. store was launched in Bergues-Quaedypre. This is a location with a retail space of 480 m2 and is run by Jean-Louis Guieu, who has lots of experience in the food trade.
When considering Tom & Co.'s remarkable rate of expansion, several new locations in France can also be expected in the new year. With regard to an estimated 63 mio pets and a market size of over 4 bn euros, there is excellent market potential.
