Maja, Princess of Hohenzollern is an internationally active designer of lifestyle products and products for children - and as of now, also for pet accessories. She says that her designs are created with a love of detail. Her wish is to combine modern trends with a hint of retro nostalgia. She has gained a high profile internationally as someone committed to animal welfare and has received a number of awards for this. She campaigns worldwide for greater empathy and respect for animals and people. Her opposition to the killing of street dogs in Ukraine in the run-up to football's European Championship hit the headlines. Maja, Princess of Hohenzollern lives in southern Spain with 13 dogs, 4 cats, rabbits and hamsters that she has saved from the streets or from facilities where animals are put down.Stylish yet functionalThe collection she has designed, which Trixie Heimtierbedarf has had manufactured and has been marketing exclusively worldwide since mid-June, comprises blankets, beds, cushions, cosy dens, bowls and other accessories for dogs and cats as well as collars, leads and harnesses for dogs. The brand "Maja, Princess of Hohenzollern" denotes stylish, functional products with a hint of princess glamour, says Trixie Heimtierbedarf. The products are in gender-specific colours: a refined pink has been chosen for canine and feline princesses and combined with a trendy baroque diamond design. For dog and cat princes, a sophisticated silver-grey stripe design has been selected. White cords and tassels and the embroidered silver Hohenzollern crown are classy details that lend the design a subtle elegance. The lettering "My Princess", "Dog Princess" and "Cat Princess" are intended to communicate the collection's message.Charity projectsA small portion of the sales revenue from purchases in Germany and Austria is being donated by Trixie Heimtierbedarf to animal welfare, with projects to protect animals at home and abroad being specifically supported. The first project chosen was the Triple-A animal shelter in Marbella, which receives no state funding and urgently needs an exercise enclosure for dogs. The donation envisaged is € 5 000.If suitably successful, the collection presented now will be expanded by a further collection of scratching posts and other cat furniture in the autumn. A new collection for small animals is then planned for next year.Download: Top-drawer designs for dogs and cats (PDF file)
