The exhibition area has been increased to over 55 000 m². “As an important world pet business platform, CIPS attracts more and more Chinese and international exhibitors and buyers each year,” states the press release by joint organisers China Great Wall International Exhibition and NürnbergMesse. The four-day show from 1 to 4 November is a must-attend event for all the professionals. Previous editions have alternated between Beijing and Guangzhou. People in Beijing are confident that China’s growing pet supplies market will give the CIPS a powerful boost. The market for pet requisites has experienced growth of 28 per cent in the last five years. This is attributable on the one hand to the increase in disposable income, but also to the reduction in the dog licence fee in China. The market research institute Euromonitor even anticipates annual growth of 7.7 per cent in all, with pet food sales alone equivalent to US $ 476 mio being forecast for 2015. The 16th CIPS will once again focus on aquariums, pet food, pet requisites, specialist literature and healthcare products. New exhibitors are arriving year on year. This year for example, the companies Eurosiam of France, Zephyr from Japan and Mark & Chappell from UK will present their products to the Chinese market for the first time. Diversity and assurance A general programme of events will complement the CIPS exhibition. This will include the China National Goldfish Competition, for example, along with a fashion show, a dog competition and talks on the subject of coat care. The organisers are also going to considerable lengths to protect the property rights and copyright of product developers; as in previous years, a patent attorney’s office will have representatives on site to ensure that exhibitors who infringe property rights and copyright will be excluded. “At the CIPS we are in the biggest manufacturing country and we are a centre of attraction for a highly promising market in the pet sector,” explains Katharina Horn, project coordinator for the CIPS at NürnbergMesse. “It is important to us, therefore, to guarantee a high-quality product portfolio that takes account of the market requirements. We want to ensure that the rights of those who come up with good ideas and new inventions are protected.” Download: Successful format in China (PDF file)
