The organisers – China Great Wall International Exhibition Company and Nürnberg Global Fairs – were very impressed with the huge interest shown by the international pet industry in the 14th edition of CIPS. The Chinese pet trade fair has confirmed its position as the most important pet and aquarium show in Asia with these fantastic results. 731 Chinese and foreign exhibitors gathered in Beijing to display the latest products and technologies of the pet and aquarium industry. The fair covered 55 000 m2 gross, compared with a gross area of just 35 000 m2 a year ago. Over 33 000 buyers (2009: 27 000) from over 60 countries and regions of the world visited the CIPS. The organisers were pleased in particular to welcome official buyers’ delegations from Germany, Japan, Korea and Russia. On-site activities The show covered all aspects of the pet, aquarium and equestrian industry. As well as the exhibition, on-site activities such as the Buyers’ Forum, Pet Fashion Show and Pet Business Seminar were staged by the organisers to bring together the processing enterprises that were exhibiting with creative enterprises with their own designs and ideas. To expand the Chinese market further, a series of activities including the Oriental Goldfish Summit, Chinese Aquarium Celebrity Forum, Dog Show and Charity Donation were organised also. These met with a positive response from the professionals. Colourful concurrent activities helped to ensure that buyers were well informed about the latest technology and products in the industry. The next CIPS will be held at the China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou on 14 – 17 November. Download: CIPS sets new records (PDF file)
