Bosch Tiernahrung was established by Kurt Bosch in southern Germany in 1960 as a supplier of mineral feeds, vitamin concentrates, milk replacers and compound feeds for livestock. In 1984 the company started selling pet food, and the production of livestock feed came to an end in 2001. In the years that followed, the factory was upgraded in its entirety, making it one of the most modern pet food production plants in Europe. A comprehensive quality management system (ISO 9001:2000, HACCP, IFS food standard, organic) guarantees the consistently high quality of all products manufactured in the plant.
Bosch Tiernahrung markets its products in 35 countries. Its main export markets include the neighbouring states of France, Austria and Switzerland as well as Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania in eastern Europe. The company is also experiencing strong growth at present in Russia and Japan. Exports account for 35 per cent of Bosch Tiernahrung's branded product sales.

As a comparison, the company's warehousing in Blaufelden currently offers space for approximately 10 000 pallets.
The demand for more space is an unmistakable sign that the business is doing well, and in fact the pet food manufacturer achieved double-digit growth in sales both at home and abroad last year. This growth has continued unabated in the first few months of this year too. Bosch Tiernahrung's philosophy is to offer premium food at a middle-segment price. The company sees its competence in a wide range of segments as another of its strengths: from economy to super-premium, Bosch Tiernahrung can satisfy the requests of all its customers as well as having the skills to fill niches such as organic, wellness and sensitive diets.
New super-premium line
The market launch of the "Life Protection Concept" in dog food caused quite a stir last year. This is a super-premium line currently comprising four products, which are produced using gluten-free cereal varieties, making them especially suitable for dogs that are sensitive in this regard.
No new dog food products are scheduled for this year, but the company is planning to introduce a complete…
