Suppliers are increasingly expanding their export business and the leading speciality chains are going beyond the borders of their native land and heading for foreign climes - the pet supplies sector is becoming increasingly globalised. It is thus becoming all the more important to obtain regular updates on developments in other countries and steadily enlarge one's network of international contacts. At the International Pet Conference, an event organised jointly by Dähne Verlag and Management Forum, we aim to offer you this opportunity. The venue is the Dorint Hotel Amsterdam Airport, a location chosen for its good transport links thanks to its proximity to the international airport at Schiphol and the motorway. Over 140 delegates from 16 countries had already registered for this top event by the middle of October. Representatives of trade, industry and services from the Benelux states in particular but also from France, the UK, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria and many other countries have put their names down for the International Pet Conference. The items on the agenda are wide-ranging and address a large target audience: What concepts are being pursued by the leading pet supplies chains in Europe? What potential does the market in central and eastern Europe offer? How important is sustainability to the pet supplies sector? What significance does Web 2.0 have for the sector? These are just a few of the fascinating subjects covered. Who will be the PET Retailer of the Year? It will be interesting, too, to discover the outcome of voting for the PET Retailer of the Year. PET in Europe canvassed the leading suppliers in the sector for their opinion and received over 30 nominations. These were narrowed down to four companies; the jury considered these in October and came up with a winner. The successful retail chain will be revealed at a gala evening function following the first day of the conference. The first-rate programme of the International Pet Conference will be complemented by the trade exhibition Pet World 2008. Here innovative companies have the opportunity to present their solutions in the field of new products, new technologies and new services to top decision-makers in the pet supplies sector.
