A further advantage of the product, according to the manufacturer, is its low weight of less than 3 kg. This quantity is sufficient to fill a cat litter tray for five weeks, and will last a guinea pig as long as six weeks on average.Large volume of private label businessAt Interzoo, Tommi and Asan exhibited on a joint stand. Since private label products account for 80 per cent of Tommi’s sales, the global fair in Nuremberg was a good opportunity for the company to cultivate its contacts with existing customers and also to attract new ones. Tommi supplies pet product retailers, wholesalers and breeders with around 7 000 pet food and accessory products. In June the company staged its established house fair Tommi Trendy at three different locations in the Czech Republic, unveiling approximately 40 new products to its trade customers. These were mainly in the categories dog apparel, toys for dogs and small animals, cushions, dishes and dog food. Apart from its private label business, the company also markets its own brands: “Fresco” moist food products, “Tommi” dry food and bakery products, “Tommi McMenu” snacks, “Catwill” cat litter, “Sleep & Play” scratching posts, beds and cushions for dogs, “Shoe4Paws” and the “Doggies” fashion line. While pet food and cat litter are manufactured at the headquarters in Pisek, accessories and snacks come from the Far East, where the company has its own plant in Weihai, China. Tommi also distributes well-known brands such as Laboratoires Héry, Prodac, Monge, Mastery and Duck Pet Food to the Czech pet supplies trade.To take care of its customers in the speciality trade in Czechia, Tommi has a field sales team of nine people. Goods are delivered by the company’s own fleet of vehicles comprising five trucks. With annual growth rates in double figures, Tommi is not afraid of the future. The company anticipates that the accessories segment in particular will grow in the next few years…
