The 3rd DeZooFa will be held in Wiesbaden from 20 to 22 May 2005. In 2003 the biennial show attracted around 170 exhibitors and over 4,600 visitors, and the show’s organiser and advisory body, the Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe (WZF), which also handles the world’s biggest pet product show Interzoo in Nuremberg, has now decided to introduce a special “European Window” exhibition at the Wiesbaden show. This is intended to give all companies that want to become closely involved in the German market a point of access, according to Joachim Merkert, the chairman of the advisory body.
Great attention is expected to be devoted to the bird segment at the show. An exhibition is planned in Hall 4 with creatively designed aviaries that should give speciality retailers ideas for arranging display aviaries in the store. Manufacturers of bird requisites are being invited to contribute ideas to this feature or to offer the retail trade suitable suggestions on their own stands. The bird display is being built in a springlike pond, landscape, which will also incorporate a café for visitors to the show.
Approx. 170 exhibitors are expected at DeZooFa in Wiesbaden in May.
The upper floor of the Rhein-Main Hall will offer attractive prize draws that can be sponsored by exhibitors as well as other eye-catching exhibitions. In the specialist forum visitors can learn how to position product ranges to generate profit with the aid of an information show by Iams Pet Food. A walk through a virtual pet store enables the visitor to see how optimum shelf utilisation and design influences customer behaviour in the store. And a trip into shopper data provides a detailed insight into the psychology and behaviour of consumers in the speciality store. Both these elements, the virtual pet shop and the shopper data, are finally used to produce a real optimised shelf layout for dog and cat food plus accessories.
An innovation competition will also be held on the upper floor. All exhibitors are invited to present promising products that are especially suitable for pets.
The results of a competition to develop bird and small animal enclosures in the product design department of the Fachhochschule Hannover will also be revealed. The competition was announced by the Zentralverband Zoologischer Fachbetriebe (ZZF) and the WZF GmbH in summer 2004, and twelve students are involved in the project, working at present on new ideas for a modern enclosure design. The jury, made up of experts…
