This was the first time ever in the history of Zoorf that the trade organization had launched a show of this kind. After a long period of planning and marketing, the expectations were great, not only on the part of the organizers themselves but also the many exhibitors and professionals from the Scandinavian market. According to the organizers, the most outstanding aspect was the extremely positive mood that prevailed on the different stands. This ensured that the fair generated a new sense of optimism for the industry.
The trade organization had expressed the feeling that this would be the “event of the year”, and this proved to be the case at an early stage. However, a trade show without visitors doesn’t last long, and now the organizers had to live up to the expectations and deliver what they had promised to satisfy the trade.

On the first day, 425 companies and 725 individual visitors were registered. Approximately 75% of these returned on the Sunday, meaning that more than 1,600 people visited the fair during the two days it was on. 575 companies in all paid a visit to the show, including 453 pet product businesses and 120 wholesalers and manufacturers.

One larger and two smaller halls in a row make up the Factory Nacka Strand exhibition site. The total net area, amounting to nearly 1,700 square metres, was sold out. All the stands were designed and fitted out to a high quality standard. A few exhibitors from outside Scandinavia were also in attendance, such as Avian Adventures Inc., whose specially designed birdcages attracted great interest. The company’s president CarolFrank came over from Texasand made the following statement: “We were extremely pleased with the enthusiasm and excitement ZoorfExpo generated for the launch of our new bird cages. We’ll definitely be back!” Among others, Pet & Garden PLC, Scotland, and Lennox Ltd from England attended thefair as exhibitors.
Following this successful début, plans are in hand to stage Zoorf every two years from now on.
