Automatic feeder
Italian company Hydor, Bassano del Grappa, has introduced an automatic feeder for fish called “Ekomixo”. The company claims to have concentrated attention on developing a device that is as simple and easy to operate as possible. The reservoir has a volume of 90 ccm. Three different feeding programs can be set, a coloured LED indicating which program is active. The feeder is powered by two batteries, and has a warning lamp that indicates when the batteries need replacing. The new anti-drip design of the food container prevents the infiltration of humidity, keeping food fresh and crisp.
Dogs go too
With its new “Walky-Dog” product Italian company Bice S.r.l., of Marano, offers a valuable aid for taking the family dog along on bike rides. The aluminium side bracket is connected firmly to the bicycle and the dog runs on the lead. A number of springs take the tension out of the connection between dog and bike, guaranteeing a safe ride. The springs can be adjusted according to the size of the dog; according to the manufacturer’s data, dogs up to the size of a Doberman or Alsatian can be exercised in this way. Only children under 15 years of age or persons weighing less than 35 kg should not use the “Walky-Dog” on their bike.
World premiere for rodents
Belgian company Versele-Laga of Deinze has come up with “Cuni Indoor Nature”, a food formulated specially for indoor rabbits and dwarf rabbits. The company states that “Cuni Indoor Nature” is a complete food that guarantees to compensate for a smaller area in which to move around through a low energy content, while ensuring perfect condition and health by the addition of vitamin D. The high fibre content and prebiotic florastimul stimulate the intestinal function and ensure stable intestinal flora. Specific urine odour (ammonia) is reduced by 66 per cent owing to natural yucca extract. “Cuni Indoor Nature“ contains no pressed grains. Its appetising and easily digestible extruded ingredients, vegetables, cereals and alfalfa stalks guarantee optimum food absorption.
