As wildfires burn across the Los Angeles area, covering more than 40 000 acres and destroying more than 12 000 structures, Purina is providing a 25 000 dollar grant to Greater Good Charities, a global non-profit organisation, to support its emergency relief efforts. Purina's donation will help provide food, basic necessities, hygiene products, blankets and emergency kits for displaced families and people without homes, as well as transportation and veterinary care for animals affected by the fires.

In addition to funding emergency relief efforts, the company is shipping more than 200 000 pounds of Purina pet food and Tidy Cats litter from its manufacturing facilities in California, Colorado and Arizona. These in-kind donations will be used to support pets in shelters and provide pet food and litter to pet-owning families displaced by the fires.

"Our hearts go out to the communities affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern California," said Kim Beardslee, Director of Community Affairs. Greater Good Charities has a Disaster Response Team on the ground in the greater LA area working with local government agencies and organisations to provide immediate and long-term relief to communities affected by the fires.
