Class action suit against Mid America Pet Food

The US pet food manufacturer Mid America Pet Food is facing a class action lawsuit brought by two dog owners. Prior to the action, the manufacturer had published a number of recalls on account of possible salmonella contamination of different food for dogs, cats and other pets.

The action states that family members became ill after caring for one of the sick dogs. Both of the dogs named in the suit were put down due to their illness. The action has been brought in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Mid America Pet Food was acquired by TA Associates, an American private equity firm, from Trinity Hunt Partners in 2020. Established in 2007, Mid America Pet Food produces super-premium pet food. It is best known for its Victor brand.
