Pet Family invests in Belgian pet store chain

Pet Family, owner of the UK pet supplies chain Pets Corner, has acquired a 30 per cent share in Cats & Dogs. The latter is a family-owned retailer based in Flanders, Belgium.

Cats & Dogs was established 20 years ago by Kevin Massart and his mother Brigitte Pettens. Starting out with a single store, it has grown into a chain of seven branches operating in the region around Antwerp. Cats & Dogs will use the investment to open at least 20 more stores. It will also sell special products from Pet Family to differentiate itself from competitors in local markets.
