A groundbreaking ceremony has signalled the start of preparations for the construction of a new logistics hub for retail group Agravis Raiffeisen. The development is taking place on a site covering roughly 90 000 m² in northern Germany.
“The new logistics hub will contribute significantly in the future to supplying customers in rural areas with goods for the home, garden and pets,” stated Agravis. Around 180 people will be employed at the new facility, which is likely to commence operation in autumn 2024 and replace the current warehouses in Münster.
“A facility is being created here that combines climate protection, economic efficiency and functionality,” said Dr Dirk Köckler, board chairman of Agravis Raiffeisen AG. He added: “Volumes and customer requirements have grown steadily in recent years, and we will be able to address these with the new distribution centre.”
