On 22 and 23 June, the European pet food industry association, Fediaf, convened its first live conference and extraordinary general meeting after two years of the pandemic. In addition to presentation of the annual report, a new explanatory video and a new website, the conference welcomed high-calibre speakers addressing central topics such as sustainability and the future of pet owning.
Over 130 delegates from a number of European countries attended the conference and general meeting in Brussels. The two-day event featured both internal sessions for Fediaf members and a conference that was open to a wider audience. After two years of virtual meetings, members were also finally able to celebrate the 50th aniversary of the association together.
The Fediaf members adopted a new constitution for the association and elected new representatives for the board and the executive committee. While remaining treasurer of the association and a member of its board, Annet Palamba relinquished the presidency. The newly elected president is Rosa Carbonell, head of the Vet Advocacy Team Europe, Middle East, North Africa (Emena) at Nestlé Purina.
