The Czech Plaček Group is testing a new distribution channel under the Zoomarket brand. The format is based on shops covering a retail area of approx. 100 m2 and situated at the entrance to well-frequented hypermarkets and supermarkets. These shops are intended to appeal to a clientele that does not fit the classic speciality retail profile. All the shops have a modern design, a welcoming ambience and an attractive range of familiar products.
The new concept is expected to be evaluated until the middle of next year at seven stores across the Czech Republic. Company boss Dušan Plaček will then decide whether to continue with the new distribution channel.
In 2022 the retailer is planning to open 70 new stores. By the first half of 2024 Dušan Plaček expects to pass the milestone of 500 stores across Europe.
