Customer campaign

03.12.2019
To mark its 20th anniversary, Zooplus invited its customers to a floating dog "meadow" on a 1 000-m²-plus pontoon on the Rhine, first in Cologne and then in Düsseldorf.

From 7 to 9 June in Düsseldorf, by the Theodor Heuss Bridge, and from 14 to 16 June near the  Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne, dog owners were able to take their dogs onto a floating pontoon. An impressive 107 m long, over ten metres wide and decked with rolled turf, Zooplus' floating dog meadow was ready to receive visitors.
In Düsseldorf the floating meadow was opened by Daniela Katzenberger, and offered proof for Zooplus staff that dogs and cats (or ladies with cat-like names) really do get on. The TV star opened the event surrounded by a bevy of dachshunds, poodles and collies.
Amid countless dog toys, free food samples and the latest agility parcours, expert workshops and dog trainers awaited the two- and four-legged visitors. A vet was also on hand to field questions, while a professional pet photographer snapped those lasting memories. And in the Zooplus pop-up store, owners received advice and arranged home delivery for their chosen products.

Ten-week campaign

Even those who couldn't make it to the floating meadow had the chance to participate in the celebration. The "wow of the year" was celebrated for ten weeks, which featured not only anniversary offers for dogs, cats etc. but also the "Wow-o-Mat" photo bus, which called at various European cities. Dogs and humans could take selfies together here that were available to take away as a strip or digitally via e-mail, with prizes awarded for photos and videos of the best "wow" moments with pets.
