The leading Canadian speciality retail group will get a new CEO

Affiliates of Roark Capital Group, a private equity firm specialising in the franchise sector, have acquired Pet Valu, Canada's leading speciality retailer and wholesale distributor of pet food and pet supplies. Pet Valu generated C$ 230 mio in system sales across 356 franchised and corporate stores in Canada and the United States. Pet Valu founder Geoffrey Holt will retire as CEO, to be replaced by Tom McNeely, who previously served as CEO of Herbal Magic and has extensive experience in franchising, speciality retail and distribution.
